Control cards for OLT
Control cards – the brain of your OLT infrastructure
Control cards are an essential element of any modular OLT chassis system. They provide data traffic management, management of connected PON cards, network configuration and connection to the uplink network. We offer compatible models for 2U to 10U chassis from manufacturers such as Huawei, V-SOL or high-quality OEM variants.
In our product range you will find basic and advanced control cards with GE or 10GE uplink ports (SFP/SFP+), redundancy support (active/standby), management via CLI, SNMP. The cards are designed for non-stop operation and support features such as VLAN, QoS, IGMP or L3 routing.
✅ GPON and XGS-PON chassis compatibility | ✅ High availability thanks to active redundancy
✅ Wide selection of SFP uplinks | ✅ In stock and fast delivery | ✅ Technical support and customized configuration

What is the control card in an OLT chassis used for?
The control card provides control and administration of the entire OLT system – it controls PON cards, provides uplink connectivity and network traffic management.
Are control cards interchangeable between different manufacturers?
Usually not. Cards must be compatible with the specific chassis and manufacturer. Always check compatibility with your system before purchasing.
What types of uplink ports do control cards have?
Typically 2-4 GE (1 Gbps) or 10GE (10 Gbps) ports in the form of SFP/SFP+ slots. Selected models also support LACP and uplink redundancy.
Do control cards support redundancy?
Yes, the larger OLT chassis allow two control cards to be installed in active/standby mode – in the event of a failure, the operation switches over automatically.
How do I set up the control card?
It's best over CLI (Telnet/SSH). The settings include network parameters, PON provisioning, ACL, VLAN, QoS, etc.
What to do if the control card fails?
If the chassis is equipped with a redundant pair of cards, operation continues without interruption. The replacement is usually hot-swappable without the need for a restart.
Can the control card be upgraded with firmware?
Yes, most cards support firmware upgrades via the web interface or TFTP. We recommend that you back up your configuration in advance.
Are there uplink ports in the control card?
Yes, uplink ports (SFP or SFP+) are included with the control card as standard. It is used for interconnection with the rest of the network (router, aggregation).
What is the lifespan of a control card?
With proper cooling and operating conditions, it will last for 10-15 years. Regular maintenance and configuration backup are important.
Can you advise on selection or configuration?
Yes! We will be happy to help you choose the right card according to the chassis, topology and required features. We also offer a tailor-made configuration.
