1U OLT units – performance in a compact package
1U OLT units are an ideal solution for internet providers, facility managers, hotels and smaller ISPs who need a robust yet space-saving solution. Their size makes them easy to install in standard 19" racks and provide high port density in a compact form. We offer 1U OLT units with both GPON and XGS-PON support, usually with 1, 2, 4, 8 or 16 PON ports. These units often include an integrated L3 switch, SFP+ uplinks, dual power (AC/DC) and management via CLI, SNMP and web interfaces. It is suitable for business installations as well as larger projects.

Who are 1U OLT units suitable for?
For ISPs, facility managers, hotels and smaller enterprise installations – where performance/size is important.
How many ONTs can be connected to a 1U OLT unit?
It depends on the number of ports and split ratio. For example, a 4-port OLT with a ratio of 1:128 can handle up to 512 clients.
What is the difference between a 1U and an OLT chassis unit?
The 1U OLT is compact and has everything in one device. The chassis of the units are modular – they allow you to swap cards and scale performance.
Do 1U OLT units support redundant power supply?
Yes, many models have a dual power input – usually a combination of AC and -48V DC power supply for higher reliability.
How is 1U OLT installed?
Standard in a 19" rack using mounting brackets. Just connect the power, uplinks, and fiber ports, then configure.
How does the remote management of 1U OLT units work?
Via web interface, CLI (telnet/SSH) or SNMP. It allows configuration of PON ports, VLAN, QoS, IGMP and other parameters.
Is it possible to deploy 1U OLT in environments with higher temperatures?
Yes, some industrial models are also designed for harsher conditions – up to 55 °C. For each model, we indicate the operating range.
Can GPON and XGS-PON be combined in one 1U unit?
Yes, the so-called Combo or FlexPON ports allow you to deploy both types of PON technologies at the same time – ideal for gradually moving up to higher speeds.
What is the energy consumption of 1U OLT units?
It varies according to the model - roughly between 30 and 80 W. Exact data are given in the technical specifications of the products.
