P2P and Uplink cards
P2P and uplink cards – high-speed connection for OLT and switches
These cards provide uplink connections between network devices such as OLT units, aggregation or backbone switches. They enable Point-to-Point (P2P) connections and uplinks to the backbone network with speeds ranging from 1G to 100G. In our range you will find modules with SFP+, SFP28, QSFP+ and QSFP28 slots that support various types of transceivers. The cards are compatible with Huawei and V-Solution products and others. Suitable for data centers, ISP infrastructure and corporate networks with high throughput requirements.

What is a P2P card?
A P2P card is used for direct optical interconnection of two network devices – typically between OLT and aggregation or backbone switch.
What is the difference between an uplink and a PON card?
An uplink card provides an "upward" connection (to a higher network layer), while a PON card connects the end users (ONT devices).
What uplink speeds do the cards support?
There are models for 1G, 10G, 25G, 40G and 100G connections – depending on the slot (SFP+, QSFP28, etc.) and the module used.
Do I need an optical module with the card?
Yes, most cards require the insertion of a compatible SFP/SFP+/QSFP module depending on the type of connectivity and distance.
Are uplink cards compatible with regular switches?
Usually yes – if the switch supports a given slot (e.g. SFP+), it can be connected to an uplink card in OLT or another device.
Can I use an uplink card for multiple devices at the same time?
This depends on the number of available ports – some models have 2-8 uplink ports that can be individually configured.
Which fiber optic cable should I use for the uplink?
The most common singlemode OS2 cables are with LC/UPC or LC/APC connectors, depending on the type of module and device.
How do I check the compatibility of my card and transceiver?
Each manufacturer has a specified list of compatible modules. We will be happy to recommend proven combinations.
Can the uplink card be combined with a PON card in the same chassis?
Yes, most OLT chassis allow you to insert different types of cards side by side, e.g. PON + uplink.
Can you help with the design of the uplink architecture?
Yes – for larger projects, we offer consultation, network design and recommendations on optical modules and cabling.
